HAIR COLOR: Ginger dreadlocks that hang down around his shoulder blades.
HEIGHT AND WEIGHT: Monty stands at roughly five foot nine and weighs about 176 pounds.
APPEARANCE: Monty's whole face is framed by an untidy looking aray of ginger dreadlocks and a short goatee. His hair is ginger in color; most small children would describe it like a mop, while most adult's might just describe it as either akin to a bird's nest, or choc-full of nasties. He has a smile that almost everyone he meet's would say that he was joyous. He has a rather oblong face, with a long 'ski-jump' nose, pale skin and a freckled nose. You may not be able to see his eyebrows or eyelashes very easily thanks to his ginger hair doo, but his eyes are a vivid shade of light blue that seems to make up for it.
Monty’s choice in clothing is casual, nonchalant and very ‘hippie’. He loves to wear beads, thrifty shirts, woolen jumpers, torn and grungy jeans, fishermen pants, and old sneaker's or moccasins. He does not think appearances and the purchase of commercial apparel are very important, and chooses comfort over fashion.

PERSONALITY: Monty is often described as the man with the joyous smile. He is a guy of average build, who is loving, erratic and jovial, with a cheeky grin and an unconstrained laugh. Monty’s caring, trusting demeanor and calculating resolve has always caused people to be attracted to him. He has a beastiness and an underlying sensitivity with a philosophic wisdom and this poetic nature that speaks to people. He is a person who rushes with self-confidence, and has said to have allot of luck. He is a very just man, with allot of generosity. He is also a man of immense courage, in the forefront of every activity.
He wouldn't like people knowing (so keep quiet about it), but he is extremely hard of hearing, although he has been equipped with cochlear implants for a few years. He also knows sign language fairly well.
Monty loves to play the guitar, has done for years. He is often found walking about with a guitar strapped to his back ready to be brought out and played; either just when he's on his own, or to a small audience. He is quite modest about his skills, and doesn't mind to do a little singing (if you ask really nicely).[/ul]

HISTORY: Monty attended a public school for most of his life. He was never the brightest crayon in the box. Sure, his grades were okay, but he was more likely to ace photography than he was to pass a high grade at math. He grew up travelling around USA for a while as a child, homeschooled be his parents. Both his parent's were quite bohemian, and usually found small jobs every time they made a stop in a town, or sold old records, cd's, tapes and books. There were little complications with his birth; he was born four days pre-maturely, 46cms (18.3 inches) long and weighing it at around 2.4 kilograms (5.5 lbs).
Monty learnt to take care of himself at a young age. When his parent's weren't homeschooling him, he spent most of his time outside climbing trees, or playing with marbels, swimming, playing football, and learning how to play the guitar from his father. Then after each day, he would return in the late afternoon to do his homework, and then help his mother cook dinner.
That, along with travelling about with his parents was his childhood, basically. They would spend allot of time camping, and fishing, playing music, selling music, swimming - allot of hippieish stuff. Monty had always been taught to be polite, and respect women - he got himself a nice little girlfriend a year ago. They were both sixteen when they met; they were both living in a small caravan park at the time, and started dating. Gracie was her name; she had snowy blonde hair and her body was a shoal of freckles, deep brown eyes and a flat face.
Everything was going great until...
Monty didn’t plan on having a daughter. It just sort of happened. Then again, a lot of his life had just sort of happened to him. But from the moment that Mahalia arrived, he wanted her - the part of his life that concerned her at least- to be deliberate.
Don’t most people just let things happen to them? Do you think your parents meant to have you? Monty didn’t like to think of Mahalia as a mistake. It was true that she was unintended, but they’d decided to keep her hadn’t they? They said that they’d just love her.
When Gracie (a young trailor yard hippie he'd met on the road) and Monty knew they were going to have a baby, they went to her parents and told them they intended to keep it.
Keep Mahalia as it turned out.
Surprisingly Gracie's parents as good as told them they were mad. Evil, even, to consider it.
They asked them what they could offer a baby. Neither of the teenagers had a job, no money, no prospects. They were too young. They could have it adopted.
But they wanted the baby, Gracie told her parents. And it was theirs and they’ll love it, which was more than a lot of babies had. They’d give it love. But then Gracie left.
Monty wanted to watch his little daughter in that place full of winding roads, weed-infested farmlands and rain-forest remnants. When Mahalia was exactly five months, three weeks and three days old, and Monty was exactly seventeen and nine months, her mother, Gracie left them. Monty couldn't cope - between the sadness, and trying to raise a tiny infant, he knew he just couldn't do it. It was all getting too much for him - Mahalia, and him, and everything... so his parent's told him that they'd help him raise Mahalia. He agreed, and soon after that his parent's suggested that he find a good place to continue his schooling, so he could get a career and start his life. Then with a heavy heart and hardly any money in his pocket he just got on a bus and - went.
He knew wanted Mahalia growing up knowing that he loved her dearly, but there hadn't been a way that he'd be able to take care of her on his own. She needed two parents; people who could spend lots of time with her; to be a real part in their lives. Thats what a normal kid would want.
They agreed to work out something that they could all live with. They knew that it was just the beginning of years of compromise and negotiations and juggling their time with her, but the three of them all wanted to make it work for Mahalia. Monty get's to see her during long weekends, holidays and whenever time available.
And things have seemed to work out alright for now. Monty enrolled at FFA and has been there for several terms now.[/ul]
